These Terms of Service apply to the website and online store operated by RIJKSEDREAMS.

Please read these Terms carefully before using our website or placing an order. By using our website or purchasing products from us, you agree to these Terms.

Nothing in these Terms affects your mandatory legal rights as a consumer under Dutch or European consumer law.

RIJKSEDREAMS sells premium smart lighting products, including smart LED bulbs, remotes, starter kits and related accessories.

Our online store is hosted by Shopify. Shopify provides the e-commerce platform that allows us to sell our products to you. Any purchase you make through our online store is a contract between you and RIJKSEDREAMS.

2. USE OF OUR WEBSITE

You may use our website only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not harm, disrupt or misuse our website, systems, products, brand or other users.

You agree not to:

- use the website for illegal, fraudulent or harmful purposes;
- interfere with the security or operation of the website;
- upload or transmit viruses, malware or harmful code;
- copy, scrape, reproduce or commercially exploit website content without our written permission;
- provide false or misleading information;
- infringe our intellectual property rights or the rights of others.

We may suspend or restrict access to our website if we reasonably believe that these Terms have been violated.

3. ACCOUNT AND CUSTOMER INFORMATION

You may be required to provide certain information when placing an order, such as your name, email address, billing address, shipping address and payment details.

You are responsible for ensuring that the information you provide is accurate, complete and up to date. We are not responsible for delivery issues, delays or additional costs caused by incorrect or incomplete information provided by you.

If you create an account, you are responsible for keeping your login details confidential and for all activity under your account, unless the activity was caused by our fault or a security issue within our control.

4. PRODUCTS AND PRODUCT INFORMATION

We make reasonable efforts to display and describe our products accurately. However, product images, colours, light effects and finishes may appear differently depending on your screen, device settings, room conditions and lighting environment.

RIJKSEDREAMS products may include smart lighting features such as dimming, colour temperature control, RGB colours, app control, remote control, scenes and automations. The availability and performance of such features may depend on factors including:

- your WiFi network and internet connection;
- correct installation and setup;
- compatible devices and software;
- third-party apps or platforms, such as Smart Life, Tuya or other integrations;
- firmware, software or platform updates;
- the physical environment in which the product is used.

We may update, improve or discontinue products, packaging, specifications or availability from time to time. This does not affect orders that have already been accepted, unless a product is unavailable or there is a clear error.

5. PRODUCT COMPLIANCE AND SAFE USE

Our products are intended for normal domestic use, unless clearly stated otherwise.

You must use and install the products according to the product manual, safety instructions and any information provided on our website or packaging. Smart LED bulbs and electrical accessories must be used only with compatible fixtures, power supplies and environments.

You should not:

- use products outdoors unless they are expressly marked as suitable for outdoor use;
- use products with incompatible dimmers, fixtures or electrical systems;
- open, modify or repair electrical components yourself;
- expose products to water, excessive heat, humidity or physical damage unless the product is designed for such conditions;
- ignore safety warnings or installation instructions.

Incorrect installation, misuse, modification or use outside the product’s intended purpose may affect your warranty rights, unless the defect is unrelated to such use.

6. ORDERS

When you place an order, you make an offer to purchase the selected products. We will confirm receipt of your order by email.

An order is accepted when we send you an order confirmation or shipping confirmation, unless we have clearly stated otherwise.

We may refuse or cancel an order if:

- the product is unavailable;
- there is an obvious error in the price or product information;
- payment is not successfully completed;
- we suspect fraud, misuse or unlawful activity;
- delivery to the requested address is not possible;
- we are legally required or entitled to do so.

If we cancel an order after payment has been received, we will refund the amount paid as soon as reasonably possible.

7. PRICES, VAT AND PAYMENT

All prices shown on our website are in euros and include VAT, unless stated otherwise.

Shipping costs, if applicable, will be shown before you complete your order.

We reserve the right to change prices, discounts and promotions at any time. The price that applies to your order is the price shown at checkout when you place your order, unless there is an obvious error.

Payment must be completed through the payment methods offered at checkout. By submitting payment information, you confirm that you are authorised to use the selected payment method.

8. DELIVERY

We deliver to the countries and regions shown on our website or at checkout.

Estimated delivery times are provided for convenience and are not guaranteed unless we expressly agree to a specific delivery date.

We will make reasonable efforts to deliver your order within the estimated delivery period. If delivery is delayed, we will inform you where appropriate.

For consumer purchases, the risk of loss or damage to the products passes to you when you or a person designated by you, other than the carrier, receives the products.

If a package is visibly damaged on delivery, please report this to the carrier where possible and contact us as soon as reasonably possible at support@rijksedreams.nl.

9. RIGHT OF WITHDRAWAL

If you are a consumer in the Netherlands or the European Union, you usually have the legal right to withdraw from your online purchase within 14 days without giving any reason.

The withdrawal period starts on the day after you, or a person designated by you, receives the product.

To exercise your right of withdrawal, you must inform us within the 14-day period by sending a clear statement to:

You may also use the model withdrawal form provided on our website, but this is not required.

After informing us that you wish to withdraw, you must return the product to us within 14 days.

10. RETURNS AFTER WITHDRAWAL

Returned products must be sent to:

You are responsible for the direct cost of returning the products, unless we have agreed otherwise or failed to inform you that these costs are for your account.

You may inspect the product as you would in a physical store. However, if the product has been used more than necessary to determine its nature, characteristics and functioning, you may be liable for any reduction in value.

Products should be returned, where reasonably possible, in their original packaging, with all accessories, manuals and included components.

11. REFUNDS AFTER WITHDRAWAL

If you validly withdraw from your purchase, we will refund the payments received from you, including the standard delivery cost of the original shipment.

We are not required to refund additional costs if you selected a more expensive delivery method than the standard delivery method offered by us.

We will refund you without undue delay and no later than 14 days after you informed us of your withdrawal. We may wait with the refund until we have received the returned products or until you have provided proof that you have returned them, whichever occurs first.

Refunds will be made using the same payment method you used for the original transaction, unless we agree otherwise. We will not charge you a fee for the refund.

12. EXCEPTIONS TO THE RIGHT OF WITHDRAWAL

The right of withdrawal may not apply to certain products if an exception under applicable law applies, for example:

- products made to your specifications or clearly personalised;
- sealed products that are not suitable for return for health protection or hygiene reasons and were unsealed after delivery;
- products that are inseparably mixed with other items after delivery.

These exceptions will only apply where legally permitted and relevant to the specific product.

13. DEFECTIVE PRODUCTS AND LEGAL WARRANTY

We are responsible for delivering products that conform to the contract.

Under Dutch and European consumer law, consumers are entitled to a product that has the quality, functionality and durability that may reasonably be expected, taking into account the product description, price, normal use and other relevant circumstances.

If your product is defective, damaged or does not work as described, please contact us at support@rijksedreams.nl with:

- your order number;
- a clear description of the issue;
- photos or videos where useful;
- any relevant information about installation, use and troubleshooting.

If the product is defective or non-conforming, you may be entitled to repair, replacement, price reduction or refund in accordance with applicable law.

Commercial guarantees or manufacturer warranties, if offered, do not limit your statutory rights.

14. PRODUCT SUPPORT AND TROUBLESHOOTING

For smart lighting products, some issues may be related to setup, WiFi signal, app configuration, firmware updates or third-party platform settings.

Before concluding that a product is defective, we may ask you to follow reasonable troubleshooting steps, such as resetting the product, checking WiFi compatibility, reinstalling an app, updating firmware or testing the product in a compatible fixture.

We will not use troubleshooting requests to delay or avoid your legal warranty rights.

15. THIRD-PARTY APPS, PLATFORMS AND SERVICES

Some RIJKSEDREAMS products may work with third-party apps, platforms or services, such as Smart Life, Tuya, Shopify, payment providers, shipping providers or other integrations.

We are not the owner or operator of third-party platforms. Their services may be subject to their own terms, privacy policies, availability, updates and technical limitations.

We are not responsible for failures, interruptions, changes or decisions made by third-party providers, except where we are legally responsible under applicable consumer law.

16. PRIVACY

We process personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy, available at:

Because our store is hosted by Shopify and uses third-party service providers, personal data may be processed by Shopify, payment providers, shipping providers, analytics providers and other partners where necessary to operate our website, process orders, deliver products and provide customer support.

17. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

All content on our website, including our brand name, logos, product names, text, images, videos, graphics, design, layout and other materials, belongs to RIJKSEDREAMS or our licensors, unless stated otherwise.

You may use our website for personal, non-commercial purposes only.

You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, modify, publish, display, sell or exploit any part of our website, brand or content without our prior written permission.

RIJKSEDREAMS and related names, logos and designs may be trademarks or trade names of RIJKSEDREAMS. You may not use them without our written permission.

18. REVIEWS, FEEDBACK AND USER CONTENT

If you submit reviews, comments, photos, ideas, suggestions or other content to us, you grant us the right to use that content for purposes such as customer service, product improvement, marketing and website display, to the extent permitted by law.

You confirm that your content:

- is accurate to the best of your knowledge;
- does not infringe third-party rights;
- is not unlawful, misleading, offensive or harmful;
- does not contain viruses or malicious code.

We may remove or refuse to publish content if we reasonably believe it is unlawful, misleading, offensive, irrelevant, fake or in breach of these Terms.

If you have received compensation, discounts or incentives for submitting a review, this must be clearly disclosed.

19. ERRORS AND AVAILABILITY

We make reasonable efforts to keep our website accurate and up to date. However, errors may occur, including errors in product descriptions, images, prices, availability, promotions or delivery information.

We may correct obvious errors and update information at any time.

If an obvious error affects your order, we may cancel the order and refund any amount paid. We will inform you if this happens.

20. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability where this would be unlawful, including liability for:

- death or personal injury caused by our negligence;
- intent or deliberate recklessness;
- mandatory consumer rights;
- product liability where applicable;
- any other liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

To the extent permitted by law, RIJKSEDREAMS is not liable for indirect damage, consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of data, loss of business, loss of goodwill or damage caused by improper installation, misuse, unauthorised modification or use contrary to product instructions.

For consumers, this limitation only applies to the extent permitted under mandatory consumer law.

21. INDEMNITY

If you use our website or products in breach of these Terms, violate the law or infringe the rights of others, you may be responsible for losses or claims that result from your actions.

This clause does not affect your mandatory consumer rights and will not be applied in a way that is unfair or unlawful under consumer protection law.

22. FORCE MAJEURE

We are not responsible for failure or delay in performing our obligations where this is caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control.

This may include, for example, extreme weather, strikes, transport disruptions, supply chain issues, power outages, cyber incidents, government measures, war, pandemics or failures by third-party service providers.

If such circumstances affect your order, we will inform you where reasonably possible and seek a fair solution.

23. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS

We may update these Terms from time to time.

The version that applies to your order is the version available on our website at the time you place your order, unless a change is required by law.

For continued use of the website, the latest version of the Terms will apply from the date it is published.

24. SEVERABILITY

If any part of these Terms is found to be invalid, unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining parts will remain in effect.

The invalid or unenforceable provision will be replaced, where possible, by a valid provision that achieves a similar purpose.

25. NO WAIVER

If we do not immediately enforce a right under these Terms, this does not mean that we waive that right.

26. ASSIGNMENT

You may not transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent.

We may transfer our rights and obligations to another company as part of a business transfer, merger, restructuring or sale, provided this does not reduce your legal rights.

27. GOVERNING LAW AND DISPUTES

These Terms and any contract between you and RIJKSEDREAMS are governed by Dutch law.

If you are a consumer living in another EU country, you may also rely on mandatory consumer protection rules that apply in your country of residence.

Disputes will be submitted to the competent court in the Netherlands, unless mandatory law gives you the right to bring a claim before another court.
